Rose Cooksey Moore, 81, of Roanoke Rapids died Friday, October 8, 2010.

Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Richard and Nancy Stainback Moore.

She was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School and attended Greensboro College.

She was a life long member of Rosemary United Methodist Church where she had served on various committies, held several offices and had been a member of the choir. She was a member of the Connie Thompson Circle and was very active with the Methodist youth fellowship for many years.

Mrs. Moore retired from J.P. Stevens after many years of service.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William "Billy" Moore; her niece, Paula McCoy Brown of Wilmington; her nephew, Charles H. McCoy of Rocky Mount; her great-niece, Kathryne M. Townsend and her husband, Kevin, of Cary; and her great-nephew, Evan M. Brown of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Rosemary United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.
